Move over, restaurants, hotels are now having their Michelin moment.
This month, Michelin inspectors have unveiled their picks for the world’s most exceptional stays, awarding Llaves MICHELIN (Michelin Keys) to a carefully curated list of standout hotels.
Spain racked up a total of 109 recognitions, including one hotel elevated to two Keys and 16 new additions to the prestigious list.
From restored castles to cliffside retreats and chic city escapes, the new Michelin Key hotels showcase the best of Spanish hospitality – and Andalucia has earned its place on the map.
Here’s a look at some of the country’s most talked-about winners, and the gems you can book right now.
Living History: Stays steeped in the past
Canfranc Estacion, A Royal Hideaway Hotel – Aragon: Perched in a 1928 train station in the Pyrenees, this hotel just scored two Michelin Keys. Think snowy vistas, Belle Époque interiors, and ski access to Candanchú or Astún.
Castillo del Buen Amor – Castile and Leon: A medieval castle turned boutique hotel near Salamanca, surrounded by vineyards and packed with stories from the era of the Catholic Monarchs.
Hotel Puntagrande – El Hierro, Canary Islands: Once dubbed the smallest hotel in the world, this 1830s structure juts into the Atlantic from a remote Canary Island. Nautical nostalgia in every room.
La Torre del Visco – Teruel: A 15th-century farmhouse with rose gardens and wildlife sightings, deeply committed to sustainability. Cozy, scenic, and serene.
Son Bunyola Resort & Villas – Mallorca: 13th-century tower? Check. A chapel-turned-restaurant? Check. This sprawling estate in the Serra de Tramuntana is Mallorca’s rustic-chic dream.
Coastal Escapes: Spain’s beachfront bliss
Fairmont La Hacienda Costa del Sol – Andalucía: One of Andalucía’s newly crowned hotels, this Cádiz hideaway offers luxury by the sea with infinity pools, golf courses, and direct beach access, far from the usual Costa crowds.

Cap Menorca Relais & Châteaux – Menorca: Built on a former military base, now a tropical clifftop sanctuary with saltwater plunge pools and panoramic views of the Med.
Teranka Formentera – Formentera: A modern haven on the quietest Balearic island, offering minimalist luxury on an untouched stretch of beach.
Rural Retreats: Country Calm and Quiet Luxury
Fontsanta Thermal Spa & Wellness – Mallorca: Set beside the only natural thermal spring in the Balearics, this wellness hotel is built around a full hydrotherapy circuit.
Hotel La Caminera Club de Campo – Ciudad Real: Oil-based spa treatments, private hunting zones, and even a landing strip for private jets. Quixote country has never looked so indulgent.
Hotel Esperit Roca – Girona: The famed Roca brothers’ newest venture: a gastronomic and cultural refuge in a converted fortress with over 8,000 wines and a Michelin-starred restaurant.
Rural Sant Ignasi – Menorca: A slow-living sanctuary in a noble 18th-century house, wrapped in shaded paths and island-made ceramics near Ciutadella.
Urban Icons: City style with soul
La Fonda Heritage Hotel, Relais & Châteaux – Marbella, Andalucía: Another Andalucían standout, this Marbella hotel blends Moorish roots, 16th-century charm, and Andalusian patios in one of the old town’s prettiest plazas.

Brach Madrid – Evok Collection – Madrid: Housed in a 1920s building on the Gran Vía with interiors by Philippe Starck, this is urban luxury with Parisian flair.
Cavalta Boutique Hotel – Sevilla, Andalucía: The first high-end stay in Triana, one of Seville’s most soulful barrios. Expect bohemian touches and flamenco spirit woven into the walls.
Convent de la Missió – Palma de Mallorca: A former monastery in Palma’s old town turned designer bolthole—quiet, chic, and minutes from the action.
The Artist Grand Hotel of Art – Bilbao: Facing the Guggenheim, this bold, color-packed hotel is a natural extension of the city’s avant-garde vibe.
