A tourist has been robbed at gunpoint while enjoying a stroll with his family on the Costa del Sol.
The elderly man, described only as ‘foreign’, was targeted in the beachfront town of Nerja, an area popular with British holidaymakers and expats.
The attacker was wearing a balaclava when he assaulted the man and demanded he hand over his cash.
The tourist decided to fight back and attempted to wrestle the assailant’s weapon away form him, leading to a struggle.
But the attacker was able to get away after the victim in the head and face with the butt of the gun.

Two workers from a nearby restaurant also tried to restrain the attacker but he threatened them with the gun before running off.
The Guardia Civil was able to identify the suspect as a 22-year-old man with several convictions for similar offences.
He was tracked down to a neighbouring town where police said he was attempting to evade justice.
He has been charged with violent robbery, illegal possession of weapons and a series of other crimes.
A court in Torrox ordered he remain behind bars ahead of his next trial date.
