A Torremolinos chiringuito has been left completely gutted following a devastating fire on Friday.

New footage shared by firefighters on Saturday showed the incredible strength of the inferno, which took hold in Silencio Beach at around 4am a day earlier.

It is the second time the club has been reduced to ashes, following a similarly destructive blaze in 2022, when it was operating under the name Kokun.

Malaga Bomberos (firefighters) said: ‘Our crews from Torremolinos and Alhaurín de la Torre intervened in the fire at the El Silencio beach bar in Los Alamos

‘When we arrived, the fire was in full swing and affecting the entire premises. We extinguished and cooled it down. No personal injury.’

It said: ‘We want to give our appreciation to the team of firefighters, local police and national police of Torremolinos for the quick response to the events of this morning.

‘We are constantly in contact with the authorities to ascertain what happened, as they tell us it could have been intentional.

‘The Silencio family want to make special mention of all those people, friends, collaborators and brands who have showed support on social media.’

The business said it would come back ‘stronger than ever’.

A police investigation into the causes of the fire remains ongoing.
