Volunteers have been praised online for taking it upon themselves to clean up Marbella’s beaches.

Up to a dozen men and women were seen walking around with rubbish bags and picking up litter today.

A clip of their selfless act was shared by the community Instagram page Marbellasequeja.

The caption read: ‘More people like this please.’

Dozens of locals and expats heaped praise on the volunteers, saying they should be ‘proud’ of their action.

However many blasted the town hall, accusing them of not having enough cleaning teams.
