Spain’s state rail operator Renfe has suspended almost all rail services across Andalucia after Aemet issued a red-level weather warning for parts of the region.
The disruption affects commuter, regional and high-speed services, with Renfe confirming that no replacement transport is being provided on the suspended routes.
The company says services will remain under constant review as weather conditions evolve.
Cercanias (commuter trains) – no alternative transport
- Sevilla: All lines suspended
- Malaga: Line C-2 suspended
- Cadiz: Line C-1a suspended
AVANT (medium-distance high-speed) – all services suspended
- Sevilla – Cordoba – Malaga
- Sevilla – Cordoba – Granada
- Malaga – Granada
Media Distancia (regional trains) – most services suspended
Only the following routes are operating:
- Madrid – Jaen
- Granada – Almeria
All other Media Distancia services in Andalucía have been cancelled.
AV / Long-distance services
- AVE Madrid – Sevilla / Malaga
- Suspended between Cordoba–Seville and Cordoba–Malaga
- Only Madrid–Cordoba services are guaranteed
- Alvia Cadiz – Madrid
- Suspended between Cadiz and Cordoba
- Alvia Cadiz – Barcelona
- Suspended between Cadiz and Linares
What passengers need to know
Renfe has activated free ticket changes and cancellations for affected services. The operator says it is continuously monitoring weather conditions and infrastructure safety, and further changes may be announced.
Passengers are advised to check Renfe’s official channels before travelling and avoid non-essential journeys while the red weather alert remains in force.
