BRITS are allegedly plotting ‘revenge’ on Benidorm bouncers after footage resurfaced on social media showing guards employing batons and what appeared to be pepper spray.

The clip, which shows two muscular guards approaching a pair of holidaymakers on Calle Gerona, has sparked fresh outrage.

The bouncers are both dressed in black and have the word ‘Kontrol’ emblazoned in white on the back of their t-shirts.

One of the guards is filmed charging towards the tourists in the middle of the street, several metres away from any bar’s entrance.

He is seen shoving one of the men in the face while bashing the other with a baton.

As one tourist comes to defend his friends, he is doused directly in the face with a spray by a guard wearing black gloves.

The violent outburst is interrupted, however, when a third tourist comes from behind and whacks one of the guards on the side of his head.

The holidaymaker immediately makes a run for it as he chased down the street by three guards.

The clip was uploaded to a page dedicated to sharing fights, but the exact date of the incident is unknown.

But commenters said the situation has not changed on the strip, with a few warning of planned revenge attacks.

One said: ‘Last year a group were set upon when drunk and they haven’t forgot, they have got a few more mates and going sober to sort them out this time.

‘They are hard nuts as well and being in the gym every day and done combat training every week, those bouncers are, I’m afraid, in for a shock.’

A British former bouncer added: ‘I worked on the doors for 20 years in the UK and the golden rules were never to leave your door to chase people down the street and also never step outside to fight people unless you’re helping a customer from being beaten up or they are so intoxicated or drunk that you need to go over and help them.

‘Different country, different rules I guess, but this type of work ethic from those two guys is Laurel and Hardy esq.’

Another said: ‘The bouncers in Benidorm are nothing but bullies they think it’s okay to do the deathly punch or beat people with their truncheon. They’re supposed to protect you and calm situations down but not them lot.’

One tourist claimed: ‘We witnessed something very similar to this last week. Within 30 seconds of being on the strip, we saw a girl get pepper sprayed by a bouncer… a man get knocked clean out by a bouncer from another pub despite it being obvious that he had already had a pasting as he was covered in blood! It was our first and last time on the strip. NEVER again!’

It comes as British expats and tourists have reported a noticeable spike in crime in the resort over the past year.

One long term resident from the UK told the Spanish Eye last night: ‘The past seven to eight months have been tragic, it’s getting silly here at the moment.’
