A series of alerts for extreme heat have been issued across Spain this weekend.
State weather agency Aemet has placed multiple towns and cities under a yellow or orange-level warning on Saturday.
The affected areas include Benidorm, Torrevieja, Orihuela and Alicante city, where temperatures are set to reach 36C.


The alert is in place from 12pm and until 7.59pm, with inland areas said to be the hottest.
Also under the same alert are Murcia, and much of the coast of Valencia.

In Andalucia, orange alerts have been issued in Cordoba and Jaen, with highs of 40C expected Saturday.
In Sevilla and Granda, a yellow warning is in effect over the same period due to projected highs of 39C.
The Balearics are also being warned of extreme heat on Saturday.
Aemet has placed both Mallorca and Ibiza under a yellow advisory, with the mercury set to reach maximums of 37C.
