A young man has been arrested for allegedly abducting his partner and leaving her tied to a tree in the countryside near Alhaurin de la Torre.
The woman was discovered alone by a group of cyclists after being bound, hooded and gagged.
Her relatives had alerted the Guardia Civil on Tuesday after receiving disturbing photographs showing her covered in blood.
They did not know where she was being held, prompting officers to launch an urgent search operation.
Investigators arrested the woman’s partner during the inquiry, but he allegedly refused to reveal where she could be found.
She was eventually discovered by cyclists in an isolated rural area and rescued.
The Guardia Civil investigation continues.
