The bodies of two men wearing wetsuits were discovered at separate locations along the Malaga coastline this week, it has emerged.
The Guardia Civil believe both men were migrants, although they have initially ruled out any connection to the mass arrivals in Ceuta at the end of July.
Neither man was carrying identification when he was found, and officers are now working to establish who they were.
The first body was discovered on Tuesday, September 15, on the western Costa del Sol.
A second young man was found dead in similar circumstances near Nerja, on the eastern side of Malaga province, the following day.
It is not yet known how the men died, where they entered the water or whether the two cases are connected.
The Guardia Civil investigation continues.
