Burger lovers are in for a treat next week as The Burger Cup rolls into Estepona, bringing some of Spain’s best burger restaurants together for five days of food, live music and family entertainment.
The highly-anticipated event will take place at Estepona’s Plaza de Toros from Wednesday, August 12, to Sunday, August 16.
For those in San Pedro de Alcantara, the Burger Cup is currently taking place on the boulevard until August 9.
Visitors will be able to sample creations from some of the country’s most popular burger joints before voting for their favourite to crown the best burger of the event.
The festival will open from 7pm until midnight on Wednesday and Thursday, while on Friday, Saturday and Sunday it will remain open until 1am. Entry is free throughout.
Among the burger restaurants taking part are Six Seven Burger, Lame, Gosso, Hype, Madu Burgers, Vulcano Grill, Burger Lab, Capitano Burger, Smash and Burger’s Mafia, while sweet treats will be provided by El Señor de las Donas.
Organisers say this year’s edition will showcase many of the burgers that have become social media sensations, with visitors able to vote for their favourite after each purchase using a QR code.
The winning restaurant will be chosen entirely by the public.
Away from the food, the event will feature live music, DJ sets, prize giveaways and entertainment throughout the five days.

There will also be a pet-friendly area and a selection of food trucks serving other specialities from around Spain.
Families are also catered for, with a children’s burger-making workshop taking place at 12.30pm on Saturday, August 15.
Places are limited and must be booked in advance through The Burger Cup’s social media channels.
The travelling festival is supported by Estepona Town Hall and sponsored by Amstel, Coca-Cola and Just Eat.
