As England prepare to face Norway in tonight’s World Cup quarter-final, Norwegian superstar Erling Haaland will have plenty of supporters watching from the Costa del Sol – not least because Marbella has become his home away from home.
Far from the bright lights of the Premier League and the relentless pressure of elite football, the Manchester City striker retreats to a spectacular villa in one of the country’s most exclusive neighbourhoods.
Haaland reportedly paid around €6.5million for the contemporary property in Nagüeles in 2022, an exclusive residential area between the Golden Mile and Sierra Blanca.
The luxury villa sits on a large private plot surrounded by greenery and boasts panoramic Mediterranean views, a swimming pool, private gym, sauna, expansive terraces and a range of wellness facilities tailored to the striker’s famously meticulous recovery routine.
The 25-year-old is renowned for treating his body with scientific precision, closely managing everything from his sleep and nutrition to ice baths, meditation and recovery sessions.
A private sanctuary
Residents describe the property as a fortress of understated luxury, with round-the-clock security and neighbours that include business leaders, royalty, athletes and celebrities.
Despite his global fame, Haaland has developed a reputation for blending into life on the Costa del Sol.

Locals have regularly spotted him dining in Marbella restaurants, strolling through town with friends and family and even joining children for impromptu kickabouts on the beach.
His connection to Marbella stretches back years thanks to his father, former Premier League footballer Alf-Inge Haaland, who introduced the family both to golf and to the Costa del Sol as a holiday destination long before Erling bought his own home.
The striker is also known to spend time at Aloha Golf Club, one of Marbella’s most prestigious courses.
Built for recovery
The villa occupies a plot of almost 2,100 square metres, with more than 800 square metres of living space spread across three levels.
Large gardens surround a spacious swimming pool, while several outdoor lounge areas allow Haaland to relax in the Andalusian sunshine. According to reports, he even enjoys taking in the morning sun as part of his daily wellness routine before meditating.
Inside, the home features a fully equipped gym, sauna and wellness areas where he can continue the ice baths and recovery techniques that have become central to his training programme.

Modern design
Designed in a sleek contemporary style, the property is filled with natural light thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Mediterranean.
A striking spiral staircase connects the villa’s three floors, while the main open-plan living room spans around 80 square metres, combining lounge and dining areas.
The designer kitchen comes fitted with premium appliances and an integrated wine cabinet, while luxury furnishings and artwork complete the minimalist interior.
The principal suite features two en-suite bathrooms and direct access to a private terrace, while the villa offers four bedrooms and seven bathrooms in total.
