A 74-year-old tourist has died after being struck by a car while crossing a road near the PortAventura railway station in Salou.
The fatal collision happened at around 2pm on June 23 on Avenida Joan Fuster, a major road linking Salou with neighbouring Vila-seca.
According to the Local Police, the man – described only as ‘foreign’ – was staying at a nearby hotel when he attempted to cross the road at a pedestrian crossing controlled by traffic lights.
He was hit by a car driven by a woman from Salou.
Paramedics from the Catalan Emergency Medical Service (SEM) found the man alive when they arrived, but despite efforts to resuscitate him, he died at the scene.

Police confirmed the driver tested negative for both alcohol and drugs following the crash.
Local media reports that the woman is being investigated on suspicion of causing death by gross negligence, although the exact circumstances of the collision have yet to be established.
The Local Police have launched an investigation to determine how the fatal accident occurred.
