A three-year-old girl has died after being rushed to hospital in critical condition following a suspected drowning at a home in Cartama.
The child had been taken by her parents to the Hospital del Guadalhorce on Sunday night.
Emergency medical teams immediately activated life-saving protocols upon the girl’s arrival at the hospital and worked for more than an hour to revive her.
Despite their efforts, doctors were unable to save the child and she was later pronounced dead.
Authorities have not yet released details about the circumstances surrounding the tragedy or the exact location where the incident occurred.
Sources have only confirmed that the symptoms suffered by the youngster were linked to an episode that allegedly took place in a swimming pool.
An investigation is underway.
