A driver was rescued from a burning vehicle moments after a serious crash on the AP-7 motorway near Benalmadena on Saturday morning.
The dramatic incident unfolded near El Higueron when a car left the carriageway, smashed into a barrier and overturned before bursting into flames.
According to emergency services, another motorist who witnessed the crash stopped and rushed to help, pulling the injured driver from the wreckage just moments before the vehicle became engulfed in fire.
The emergency response was triggered by a call to 112, which immediately dispatched firefighters and paramedics to the scene.
By the time crews arrived, the blaze had begun spreading towards nearby woodland, forcing firefighters to prioritise preventing a potential forest fire.
The injured driver received emergency treatment at the roadside before being taken to hospital.
Authorities have not yet released details about the severity of the victim’s injuries.

The crash came during a busy weekend on Malaga’s roads, with Spain’s traffic authority, the DGT, reporting the usual congestion hotspots across the province.
Delays were recorded on the A-7 near San Pedro de Alcantara heading towards Marbella, as well as on the MA-20 near Malaga’s trade fair centre in the direction of Torremolinos.
Several other accidents were also reported across the province on Friday afternoon, including a three-car collision inside the Ortega Prados tunnel on the MA-20, which caused around three kilometres of traffic tailbacks.
Another crash involving a car and a motorcycle occurred on the A-7076 near Campanillas, prompting a response from emergency medical teams and the Guardia Civil’s traffic unit.
