This is the moment a car ended up wedged inside the central median barrier of the A-7 near Marbella in a dramatic crash overnight.

The vehicle became trapped within the central barrier at around 4am on Sunday.

Footage from the scene shows the white vehicle lodged upright between the concrete median and metal crash barrier, with significant damage to the roof and bodywork.

The incident happened right before the exit for Nueva Andalucia, near to San Pedro de Alcantara and Puerto Banus.

Emergency services attended the scene, although details about the occupants and any injuries have yet to be released.

Traffic continued to flow past the wreckage while crews worked at the scene.

Authorities have not yet released details on the cause of the crash.
