CCTV cameras have caught the moment a woman had her handbag stolen inside a shoe shop in the centre of San Pedro Alcantara on Friday morning.
The theft took place on Calle En Medio, one of the Marbella town’s busiest shopping streets.
The suspect appears to use a jacket to conceal his actions before lifting the victim’s handbag while she is distracted inside the store.
The video shows several customers browsing and seated inside the shop while the man moves around the premises.
At one point, he appears to position a jacket over the area where the bag had been placed before leaving with the item unnoticed.
The theft was only discovered moments later.

The incident has sparked concern among local residents and business owners, particularly as San Pedro’s commercial centre becomes busier heading into the summer season.
A warning shared alongside the footage urged shoppers to remain vigilant and keep personal belongings close at hand when visiting busy retail areas.
Shop owners in the area are also reminding customers not to leave handbags, wallets or mobile phones unattended, even for a brief moment, as opportunistic thieves often target busy stores where distractions are common.
Anyone who recognises the suspect or has information about the incident is encouraged to contact the authorities.
