A terrifying shooting in Almeria has left two people dead and at least four others injured, including a baby.
A 25-year-old Spanish was arrested shortly after allegedly shooting dead his own parents during the attack, which occurred at around 11.15pm on Monday.
Four others are seriously injured, including two small children and his seven-month-old baby.
The shooting unfolded in El Ejido, in the area of El Canalillo near Balanegra.
The two people killed were a married couple and the parents of the suspected gunman. Their bodies were found inside a car on the street with gunshot wounds.
Among the four seriously injured victims is the suspect’s seven-month-old baby, who was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
A two-year-old child was also wounded, along with a woman and another man who both suffered serious gunshot injuries.
The Guardia Civil was alerted to the shooting after a local resident reported hearing gunfire in the area.
Officers, supported by the elite GAR rapid action unit and emergency medical teams, launched an immediate operation and managed to arrest the suspected gunman shortly afterwards.
Police also seized the firearm allegedly used in the attack.
According to health authorities, one injured adult was taken to the Hospital Universitario de Poniente in El Ejido, while another was transferred to Torrecardenas Hospital in Almeria city.
The two injured children were also taken to hospitals in the provincial capital.
The seven-month-old baby and one injured adult remain in intensive care at Torrecardenas Hospital, while the two-year-old child has been admitted to the Materno Infantil Princesa Leonor hospital.
