A 19-year-old man has died and two others have been injured following a serious car crash in Ardales in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Emergency services were alerted at around 2.30am after a vehicle left the A-357.
Witnesses who called the 112 emergency number said that one of the occupants had fallen down an embankment.
The coordination centre dispatched paramedics from 061, Guardia Civil traffic officers, road maintenance crews and firefighters from the Malaga Provincial Consortium.
According to fire crews, the car veered off the road and the rear-seat passenger – a 19-year-old man – was thrown down a slope of approximately five metres. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and front-seat passenger, both aged 20, were injured in the crash and taken to Malaga’s Hospital Clínico Universitario for treatment.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
