A stunning hotel in the heart of Granada has won three gongs at the World Luxury Hotel Awards for 2025.
The Royal Hideaway Palacio Gran Via won the titles of Best Luxury Boutique Hotel in Spain, Best Luxury Historic Hotel, and Best Luxury Hotel in Spain.
The accolades place the hotel among the world’s leading destinations for elegance and exclusivity, according to Barcelo Hotel Group, which saw five of its Spanish properties recognised at this year’s awards.
The Palacio Gran Via occupies one of Granada’s most iconic buildings – the former Rodriguez-Acosta bank, a symbol of the city’s aristocratic and intellectual heritage.
The structure, more than a century old, still preserves its early 20th-century vaults and the modernist charm that defined the period.

After a full restoration, the hotel reopened just over two years ago, joining Granada’s select list of five-star properties.
Set directly opposite Granada Cathedral, the hotel boasts one of the city’s most enviable addresses.
Originally built in 1905, coinciding with the opening of the Gran Vía, it was designed by renowned modernist architect Juan Montserrat Verges.
Its blend of artistic heritage, architecture and contemporary design has captivated international travel publications and judges alike.
