Sevilla Airport will finally launch a direct flight with London Heathrow, it has been announced.
Speaking at the World Travel Market in London, Tourism Minister Arturo Bernal revealed that the new route would being operations next year.
He confirmed that from March 2026, Vueling will operate a daily direct flight between the Andalucian capital and the West London travel hub.
Heathrow is Europe’s busiest airport, boasting 83.9 million passengers in 2024, and ranks as the world’s most connected, according to the 2025 OAG Megahubs Index.
As the UK’s primary aviation hub, Heathrow offers unmatched access to long-haul destinations across the globe.
Sevilla’s Tourism and Culture Delegate, Angie Moreno, stressed the strategic importance of this new route.
She said: ‘This is a qualitative leap in Seville’s international connectivity. Heathrow offers the world’s most comprehensive long-haul network, which opens the door to travellers not only from the UK, but also from the Americas, Asia, and the Middle East.’
Moreno added that the direct link strengthens Sevilla’s profile as a first-tier global destination.
She added: ‘The British market remains one of our strongest. It’s the fastest-growing source of visitors, with over 162,000 tourists annually, an average stay of three nights, and above-average spending.
‘This new route gives us the tools to consolidate and grow those numbers further.’
The new Heathrow service is the result of a joint effort between the City Council, Vueling, and the Andalucian government.
