A body has been found in Puerto Banus after reportedly being dumped there by a masked gang of smugglers.
The grisly discovery at around noon on Monday sparked an emergency response and an ongoing investigation by the Guardia Civil.
Witnesses claimed they saw a so-called ‘narcolancha’ pull up to the luxury port and dump the-then seriously injured man by the boat refuelling station.
A ‘narcolancha’ is the name given to semi-rigid vessels typically used by drug traffickers.
Emergency services were quickly alerted, with units from the Policía Nacional, Guardia Civil and 061 Medical Service responding to the scene.
Despite efforts from paramedics, the unidentified individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
A judicial team, including the duty judge, court clerk, and forensic doctor, was called to oversee the recovery and formal procedures.
At this stage, all possible lines of investigation remain open, and authorities have not ruled out any scenarios.
According to local reports, the man was dumped by the boat fuel station while still alive.
Although the Guardia Civil said there were no visible signs of violence, an autopsy will determine the exact cause of death.
