A manhunt is underway for a shooter in Barcelona following the assassination-style killing of a young man on Tuesday.
The shocking incident took place on the corner of Consell de Cent and Villarroel in the downtown area of the tourist city.
According to Spanish reports, the victim was shot once in the head and three times in the back.
He was said to be surprised by the attacker as he entered the doorway of a building.
The victim is described as ‘a young man of Spanish nationality.’
The alleged shooter managed to escape and has yet to be arrested, according to police sources.
The Mossos d’Esquadra (Catalan police) have cordoned off the area where the murder took place.
The Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) has launched an investigation.
