This is the moment a beach vendor punched a policeman square in the face during a shocking brawl in front of British tourists and locals in Marbella.

Footage shared online on Wednesday shows the seller, colloquially known as a ‘looky looky’, punching the officer through the opened visor of his helmet.

A British tourist can be heard saying ‘that was mental’, as the manager of the establishment shouts: ‘Get out of here! NOT in the chiringuito, NOT in the chiringuito!’

Other vendors can be seen picking up their clothes and other goods and making a run for it.

The incident happened at a packed beach club, with holidaymakers seen jumping out of the way while holding onto their beers.

At one point, the police officer and beach seller are seen grappling on the floor.

Another beach vendor can then be seen trying to kick the policeman, while others attempt to pull them apart.

Eventually, several other officers arrive carrying batons and clear the area.

Customers can be heard screaming throughout the clip, begging the men to stop the fighting.

The chaos erupted on Tuesday, it has emerged, in what was one of many raids against illegal street vendors along the Costa del Sol in recent weeks.

Authorities are cracking down on the activity this year in a bid to clean up the image of resorts like Marbella.

The beach vendors are considered illegal because they do not have a licence to sell products, while many of their goods are counterfeit.
