A young girl has been injured in the latest shooting to rock the municipality of Mijas.
The incident occurred at around 4.10am on Monday, when several gunshots were fired at a house in the Las Lagunas area.
The bullets hit three members of the same family, including the little girl, Guardia Civil sources confirmed to Diario Sur.
At least one witness called the 112 emergency hotline to report hearing several gunshots.
The neighbour is said to have seen a car fleeing the scene immediately after the shooting.
There have been no reported arrests as the investigation to identify the attackers continues.
It is the latest in a string of shootings in Mijas and the neighbouring town of Fuengirola.
Earlier this month, two Scottish gangsters were assassinated at an Irish pub in Fuengirola.
And in April, a Liverpudlian was gunned down while walking home from a football match in Mijas.
