This is the moment a church petitioner was filmed collecting donations using a card machine.

The clip was taken during Semana Santa (Holy Week) processions in Guadix, Granada this week.

The TikTok video has gone viral in Spain, racking up more than one million views.

The footage shows a young woman in hysterics as she donates to the local parish by tapping her phone on the card reader.

The moment is made comical by the person holding the machine donning full Holy Week attire, including a white face covering and a dramatic pointy hat.

The recording occurred during one of the many religious processions taking place in Spain this week.

The processions happen throughout Holy Week and are organised by so-called ‘brotherhoods’ (cofradias) of local churches and parishes.

These brotherhoods walk through major cities and towns while holding huge floats on their shoulders that carry large statues of religious figures, including Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary.

In Andalucia, some members of the brotherhoods collect donations from the crowd during the processions.

These donations usually go towards covering the brotherhood’s expenses.
