Multiple flights have been diverted from Malaga Airport on Thursday as fierce winds are making landing difficult.
According to Flight Radar, at least three flights were unable to land at the Costa del Sol travel hub this morning.
One British Airways flight from London Gatwick that was due to land at 11.40am was diverted back to the London airport.
Two other flights in the morning were diverted to Valencia; a Ryanair service from Memmingen and a Lauda Air flight from Zagreb.
Airport operator Aena said in a post on X: ‘Adverse weather at Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport.
‘We recommend that you check with your airline for the status of your flight.’
ENAIRE added: ‘Very complicated meteorology in the approach to Malaga Airport due to very strong winds, which are causing regulations for safety reasons.

‘If you’re going to fly, check with your airline about the status of your flight.’
It comes as the whole of Andalucia remains under a weather alert for severe weather brought on by Storm Leonardo.
In Malaga province, the Costa del Sol, Guadalhorce Valley and Ronda continue to be on a yellow warning for heavy rainfall on Thursday, plus strong winds of up to 70km/hr.
