A father of two young children has been confirmed among the fatal victims of the Cordoba train tragedy.
Agustin Fadon, 39, was working in the cafe of the doomed Renfe Alvia train when it collided with the derailed Iryo service near the town of Adamuz on Sunday evening.
The Madrid native survived a 2013 train tragedy in Angrois, Santiago de Compestola, which left 80 dead.
He escaped with his life after switching shifts with a colleague who perished in the infamous disaster.
According to witnesses from the Adamuz crash, Agustin was heading to the toilet at the moment of impact.
‘Nobody has seen him, nobody knows anything… the wait is agonising,’ a loved one said before being told the worst news possible.
Maria del Mar, his sister, previously said she was ‘dead inside’ and fearing the worst, describing her brother as one of the pillars of her life.
The family claimed that Agustin ‘went to work afraid’ because of the ‘vibrations’ on the trains and that he had he had to work hard to overcome the Angrois train crash that claimed many of his colleagues’ lives.
Before his death was confirmed, Agustin’s friend and colleague Rocio told Diario Sur: ‘What we can’t understand is why it’s so difficult to find out anything; he was in uniform, and the firefighters have already searched the restrooms, without finding him.’

Agustin’s sister and brother-in-law had travelled to Adamuz to search every possible place for any information.
Rocio added: ‘This is causing them absolute despair; they don’t know where else to turn.
‘In these situations, you cling to any straw, but time passes, and this uncertainty only gets harder…
‘Agustín was too special a person to have to accept this.’
