A manhunt is underway after a mother and daughter suffered a terrifying home invasion on the Costa del Sol last week.
According to the Policia Nacional, two masked men forced their way into the property in Arroyo de la Miel in Benalmadena last Friday afternoon (December 6).
The brazen attackers knocked on the door, and the mother opened it, believing it was a delivery. It was then that they shoved the door open and burst into the house.
The shock of the moment caused the mother to faint, allowing the intruders to tie her up, before heading to the daughter’s bedroom.
The 18-year-old locked her door but they forced it open and subdued her before tying her up and raiding the house.
Both women were beaten, police said, but did not sustain serious injuries.
According to police sources cited by Diario Sur, the thieves stole several pieces of jewellery, mostly gold and €1,400 in cash.
They were forced to flee the scene after the mother regained consciousness and managed to escape and raise the alarm with her neighbours.
Police are investigating crimes of unlawful detention, assault and robbery with violence, but have yet to make any arrests.
