At least eight flights have been diverted from Sevilla Airport due to heavy fog.
The aircraft were forced to land at either Malaga or Faro Airport in Portugal due to the low visibility on the runway.
Seven of the diverted flights that were sent to Malaga came from Tenerife South, Amsterdam (Netherlands), Birmingham (UK), Palma de Mallorca, Madrid, Bilbao, and Bergamo (Italy).
A flight from Paris was able to land at Sevilla at the last minute and did not have to be diverted to Malaga.
A flight from Porto was also diverted to Faro Airport (Algarve, Portugal). The fog is quite dense, according to airport authority Aena.
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) issued a fog warning for almost all of Andalucia during the early hours and morning of this Saturday, a situation that was expected to improve in the second half of the day. No alerts have been issued.
Fog is forecast for five Andalusian provincial capitals this Saturday, including Cadiz, Cordoba, Sevilla, and Granada.
