According to the 112 emergency service, the rider, wearing a Glovo backpack, was knocked off his motorcycle by the van as it joined the motorway near the Puerta Europa shopping centre.

Multiple callers reported that a van had collided with a delivery motorcycle on the slip road heading towards Malaga.

Footage filmed by other drivers shows the van continuing along the dual carriageway with the injured rider trapped on the bonnet for several hundred metres.

The clip, recorded shortly before the traffic lights in the La Granja neighbourhood, captures the victim trying to shift his position while surrounding vehicles sound their horns in an attempt to force the driver to stop.

Emergency services alerted Guardia Civil traffic units and paramedics, who were dispatched immediately.

Witnesses said the van driver was intercepted by officers before he could leave the municipality of Algeciras.
