Parts of Malaga have been placed under a weather alert on Monday as showers and storms sweep through the region.
State weather agency Aemet issued a yellow warning for the Costa del Sol and Guadalquivir Valley on Sunday evening.
The alert is in effect between 3am and 10am, and warns of up to 15mm of rainfall per metre square in an hour.
According to weather experts at El Tiempo, a ‘carousel’ of Atlantic storms is set to follow throughout the week.
Starting Monday and continuing into the weekend, a series of Atlantic systems will bring widespread rain, particularly across western Spain.
Regions like Galicia, northern Extremadura, southern Castilla y Leon and western Andalucia will see the heaviest rainfall.

Showers are expected throughout next week across Andalucia, including along the Costa del Sol, although the temperatures will remain above 20C.
