An Italian tourist has been arrested in Malaga accused of raping a young Chinese woman he had met at the hostel where they were both staying.
According to sources quoted by Malaga Hoy, the incident took place in the early hours of Monday during the Feria de Malaga, when the 25-year-old victim told police she was forced into sex despite making it clear she did not want to.
The woman claimed she and the 28-year-old Italian had been drinking and dancing together at the Cortijo de Torres fairgrounds before leaving the site at his suggestion.
At first, she claims she agreed to kissing, but quickly noticed his attitude becoming ‘aggressive and insistent.’
She repeatedly told him she was unwilling to have sex, but he allegedly forced himself on her while she resisted.
According to police reports, several women nearby saw the victim attempting to escape. They confronted the man, who allegedly lashed out before walking away.
The victim, visibly shaken and in tears, then approached local police officers on Calle Max Estrella for help.
While she was speaking with officers, the suspect continued to call her phone, asking to meet. He told her he was waiting outside their shared hostel.
With police assistance, the woman returned there and pointed him out. Officers immediately identified him through his tattoos and placed him under arrest. In an initial statement, he reportedly admitted to some of the alleged acts.
Following his arrest, authorities activated the standard protocol for sexual assault cases. The victim was taken to Málaga’s Maternal and Child Hospital, where she received treatment and underwent a forensic examination.
Police sources confirmed the man faces charges of sexual assault.
