A forest fire broke out this afternoon in the municipality of Mijas, on what emergency crews believe is livestock or agricultural land close to the Santana Golf course.
The 112 emergency service received multiple calls shortly before 3.30pm reporting smoke and flames near kilometre 12 of the A-7053, the road linking Alhaurín el Grande with Fuengirola.
Infoca, Andalucía’s forest fire agency, confirmed no homes are in the immediate area.

Later, a medium-heavy helicopter, two more firefighting crews, and another operations technician were deployed.
Local Police, Mijas Fire Brigade, and the Guardia Civil also attended the scene. By late afternoon, Infoca had not reported any injuries or evacuations.
