A 28-year-old squatter has been jailed in Andalucia after allegedly luring a 15-year-old girl into his building at knifepoint before locking her in a room and raping her.
According to prosecutors, the teenager had been with a friend in a park in Huerto Paco, Huelva, close to a notorious squatter block on Malaga Street, when one of the ‘okupas’ drew her inside.
‘He took her phone, padlocked the door, and raped her,’ a source told Huelva Informacion.
The girl’s family filed a complaint with the Policia Nacional, who arrested the suspect. He has since been remanded in custody.
Locals say the incident has left the neighbourhood paralysed with fear.

‘We don’t dare go out,’ one resident said. Others claim the once-quiet area is now plagued by armed squatters who brawl in the streets and rob residents.
‘They carry knives, they’re aggressive,’ said another.
In February, a man was stabbed in the neck during a street fight involving knives and bottles.
Police arrested three men, two of them hospitalised with stab wounds, but all were later released on bail.
Now, many long-time residents are thinking of leaving altogether.
‘I don’t know if I should leave my house,’ one woman added, ‘I just want to report what we’re living through.’
