A weather alert has been issued for much of the Costa del Sol on Friday.
State weather agency Aemet is warning of rough seas and high waves off a series of towns and cities.
The affected zones include Estepona, Marbella, Fuengirola, Torremolinos, Malaga city, Velez-Malaga and Nerja.
According to meteorologists there will be strong east and southeasterly winds of up to 50km/hr.
The gales are expected to bring strong tides and waves of up to two metres.
The yellow-level alert is in place along the coast from 12pm and until 11.59pm.
Anyone wanting to swim should take extra caution and look out for colour-coded flags on the beach, which denote whether or not the sea is safe to swim in.
A green flag means swimming is allowed; a yellow flag means swim with caution; a red flag means swimming is prohibited.
