Locals have revealed where to find the coldest beers in Sevilla as the city prepares for a 43C heatwave this weekend.

Instagram page @Sevillaresiste_ visited some of the Andalucian capital’s most iconic bars to check the temperature of their cañas (small beers).

In the clip, a thermometer can be seen checking just how cold a freshly-served beer is in each local.

The video caption read: ‘The coldest beer in Sevilla… many people claim to know which is the coldest beer, but we’re going to find out for sure.

‘This time, we’re focusing on iconic bars that we’ve all probably tried at some point.

‘With a cooking thermometer in one hand and a golden glass in the other, we make the sacrifice to find the coldest beer in Sevilla.’

The video visited Bar Jota, Casa Vizcaino, Casa Coronado, Bar Las Columnas and Cervexeria Urbion.

Casa Vizcaino had the coldest beer with a chilling reading of -1.9C, followed by Bar Jota, where the mercury dropped to -1.4C.

In third position was Cervexeria Urbion on -1.3C, then Casa Coronado (-0.3C) and Las Columnas (1.9C).

The truth is that most bars in Sevilla will serve you an ice cold caña, as they are no strangers to punishing temperatures.

This weekend will be no exception as a heatwave looks set to send temperatures to as high as 43C.
