A series of ‘brutal’ hail storms in Spain have sparked flash floods strong enough to carry away cars.
Dramatic footage shared on X shows multiple vehicles floating in muddy water in Albacete, one of the hardest hit regions in the southeast of the country.
Hail was also filmed falling in Jaen on Sunday, which is typically one of the hottest provinces in the southernmost region of Andalucia.
In Murcia an incredible photograph shared on X showed the rare formation of mammatus clouds.
The clouds are formed by sinking air, rather than the rising air that creates most clouds, and are often associated with turbulent weather.
In Nerpio, Albacete, pictures showed how hail stones were the size of golf balls.
Sunday was yet another day of unpredictable weather, which has become somewhat of a recurring theme in Spain so far this year.
It came as Mallorca experienced highs of 38C over the weekend, sparking several weather alerts from Aemet.
