Three of the 10 most expensive homes currently for sale in Spain are on the Costa del Sol, with an extraordinary €70million Marbella mansion taking the number one spot.
The latest ranking compiled by property portal Idealista reveals that Spain’s ultra-luxury market is increasingly concentrated in Malaga province and the Balearic Islands.
Andalucia accounts for three properties in the national top 10, all of them located on the Costa del Sol, while the remaining seven are in the Balearics.
At the very top of the ranking is Villa Bellagio on Marbella’s famous Golden Mile, currently on the market for a staggering €70million.
Set on a 14,000sqm plot, the sprawling mansion has 13 bedrooms and an array of facilities more commonly associated with a luxury resort.
They include several swimming pools, a gym and sauna, as well as a private bowling alley, bar and cinema.
Its €70million asking price puts it comfortably ahead of every other property currently appearing in Idealista’s top 10.
€34million Benahavis estate
The Costa del Sol’s second entry is La Madrugada, an enormous Hispano-Arabic-style estate in Benahavis.
Priced at €34million, it is the fourth most expensive home in Spain according to the ranking.
The property extends across some 4,280sqm, features 17 bedrooms and offers views towards both the mountains and Mediterranean.
It is not the first time La Madrugada has appeared among Spain’s most expensive properties.
The estate also made Idealista’s ranking in 2025, although at the time it carried an even more eye-watering €40million price tag.
Its current asking price therefore represents a €6million reduction.
Another €27million mansion in La Zagaleta
Benahavis also provides Andalucia’s third entry in the top 10.
A detached villa in the ultra-exclusive La Zagaleta development is being offered for €27million.
The property has approximately 2,200sqm of built space and helps cement the municipality’s position alongside neighbouring Marbella at the very top of Spain’s luxury housing market.
Together, the three Costa del Sol properties have a combined asking price of €131million.
But while that figure underlines the extraordinary sums commanded by the region’s most prestigious homes, the Costa del Sol has actually lost ground in the national ranking compared with last year.
In 2025, properties on the Malaga coastline accounted for seven of Spain’s 10 most expensive homes.
This August, that share has fallen from 70% to just 30%.
Balearic Islands dominate
The Balearic Islands have moved in to fill the gap, accounting for the remaining seven properties in Spain’s top 10.
They are spread across locations including Pollença, Palma, Puigpunyent, Esporles and Calvia, with asking prices ranging from €24.5million to €46million.
No property from any other Spanish autonomous community makes the top 10.
