This is the terrifying moment a man stood over his alleged victim while drenched in blood following a brutal hammer attack in Murcia.
The scenes unfolded in Juan Carlos I Avenue in the centre of Torre Pacheco on Thursday afternoon.
According to investigators cited by Cadena Ser, a fight broke out between two Senegalese men and a third man of Arab origin for reasons that remain unclear.
Police believe the dispute may have been linked to an alleged theft.
During the altercation, the suspected attacker is alleged to have produced a hammer and repeatedly struck one of the Senegalese men in the head, leaving him critically injured on the ground.
He then allegedly turned on the second man, attacking him with a broken glass bottle and inflicting a cut to his neck.
Local Police officers quickly intervened and arrested the suspected attacker at the scene.

Paramedics treated the victims before the more seriously injured man was rushed to Virgen de la Arrixaca Hospital, where he remains in hospital in a critical condition.
The Guardia Civil has launched an investigation to establish the exact circumstances that led to the violent confrontation.
The attack caused significant alarm among residents, with the fight unfolding in broad daylight in the heart of Torre Pacheco.
It is the same town that witnessed race riots last year, after a Spanish pensioner was beaten up by a group of youths.
