Malaga CF supporters turned out in their hundreds late on Sunday night to welcome their heroes home after the club secured a place in the promotion play-offs to Spain’s top flight.

Scenes of jubilation unfolded shortly before midnight as the team arrived back from Zaragoza following the result that confirmed their shot at a return to La Liga.

Fans packed the area outside the team’s arrival point, creating a narrow corridor through which players and staff made their way while being greeted by chants, applause and emotional celebrations.
