Comic-Con Malaga has added another major name to its line-up, confirming that Iñaki Godoy, the actor who plays Monkey D. Luffy in Netflix’s live-action One Piece, will attend this year’s event.
The Mexican actor has become one of the breakout stars of the series, which is now in its second season.
His portrayal of the optimistic pirate captain has helped turn the adaptation into a global success and introduced the character to a wider audience beyond anime fans.
Before landing the role, Godoy had already built experience in television with appearances in Sin miedo a la verdad (2019), ¿Quién mató a Sara? (2021) and Los imperfectos (2022).
However, it is his performance in One Piece that has brought him international recognition.
He joins a cast that includes Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp and Taz Skylar as Sanji, who attended the first edition of Comic-Con Málaga last year on the Costa del Sol.
Godoy is the latest name to be confirmed by organisers, who have already announced a strong international line-up.
Among the guests are Sean Astin, best known for his role as Sam in The Lord of the Rings, as well as actor Michael Rooker, recognised for The Walking Dead and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Filmmaker Kevin Smith and legendary Marvel artist John Romita Jr. are also set to attend.
Following the success of its debut, the convention is returning to the Fycma exhibition centre with a larger and more ambitious set-up.
Organisers have expanded the space by 9,000 square metres and will introduce a new pavilion dedicated to artists, aimed at improving conditions in the popular Artists’ Alley.
The Gaming Plaza will also be relocated as part of the redesign.
