Residents in Malaga city were caught off guard late on Wednesday night when a surge of water flooded part of the famous Calle Victoria.
Shortly after 8.30pm, the streets – particularly around the San Lazaro area – became inundated, apparently due to a burst pipe.
Locals told Spanish newspaper El Español that some children had just finished sports training and returned home soaked after trying to cross the street to reach their buildings.
Others reacted with humour, joking that Torremolinos’ Aqualand had found a ‘new location’ for the year.
Malaga City Council said crews are already working to resolve the issue, although details remain limited.
Residents suggest the source of the problem may be in the Conde Ureña area.
Local Police are on site managing traffic, as the sudden flooding quickly caused significant disruption.
