Andalucia has once again been confirmed as the olive oil champion of the world.
The region dominated this year’s AOVE World Cup 48 Kilates, one of the most prestigious and demanding competitions in the international olive oil sector.
In the ‘Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the World’ category, Andalucia producers occupied the top three positions after receiving the highest scores from the international judging panel.
In pole position was Oleosubbetica, produced by the Marin Serrano El Lagar mill in Carcabuey, Cordoba. Bottles are currently selling online for €12 per 500ml.
Second place also went to an oil from Carcabuey, called Rincon de la Subbetica, and produced by Almazaras de la Subbetica. A 500ml bottle will cost you €20.95.
Third place, meanwhile, was awarded to the Jabalcuz Gran Seleccion, produced by SCA Sierra de la Pandera in Los Villares, Jaen. A 500ml bottle is available online for €14.
Andalucia oils shine across multiple categories


Beyond the main podium, numerous olive oils from across Andalucia and Spain received recognition in specific categories, reflecting the country’s strong presence in the global olive oil market.
Andalucia played a leading role, producing several of the world’s top-ranked oils.
In the Picual category, considered one of the most important olive varieties, the award for Best Picual in the World went to Oro de Canava from Jimena, Jaen, followed by Señorío de Camarasa and Puerta de las Villas.
Other Andalucian winners included:
- Supremo Royal (Jaen), named Best Royal variety in the world
- Monteoliva Oro Pajarero (Cabra, Cordoba), Best Pajarero in the world
- Knolive Picudo (Priego de Cordoba), Best Picudo in the world
- Casa del Abuelo (La Puebla de Cazalla, Sevilla), Best Verdial in the world
- Invicto AOVE Frantoio (Bailen, Jaen), Best Frantoio in the world
In the Limited Series category, Aceite Trashumante La Oveja from Marmolejo (Jaen) took first place, followed by Luz del Olivar from Arquillos (Jaen).
The award for Best Packaging Design in the World went to Invicto AOVE Arbosana, also from Bailen in Jaen.
Global ranking highlights
The overall world ranking for the 2026 AOVE World Cup places Spain firmly at the top:
- Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the World 2026: Oleosubbetica (Cordoba)
- Second Best EVOO in the World: Rincon de la Subbetica (Cordoba)
- Third Best EVOO in the World: Jabalcuz Gran Seleccion (Jaen)
- Best Organic EVOO in the World: ULU Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Madrid)
According to the organisers, the aim of the competition is to promote the culture of extra virgin olive oil and recognise producers who achieve the highest international standards of quality in aroma, flavour and balance.
