Forecourts reported snaking queues, with some even running out of fuel after drivers filled up multiple cars and cans.
For those looking to get fuel at the lowest price possible, the Spanish Eye has found the cheapest stations in Malaga province, using data from dieselogasolina.com.
Cheapest for petrol in Malaga
According to the latest report from March 6, the cheapest garage for petrol in Malaga province is the Ballenoil forecourt in Cartama, standing at €1.519 per litre.
This is followed by the Eroski garage in Velez-Malaga (Avenida Juan Carlos I), on €1.529/l and the Petroprix in Coin (Avenida Reina Sofia, 43) on €1.535/l.
While the data listed a petrol garage in Marbella in third place, there does not appear to be a garage on the address that is mentioned.

In fourth position is the Petropix in Arroyo de la Miel, Benalmadena, where customers pay €1.535 per litre of petrol.
Cheapest for diesel in Malaga
For diesel, the cheapest station in Malaga province is the Agla forecourt in Montecorto, on the A-374 road, coming in at €1.519/l.
This is followed by the Ecoarea Santa Amalia station in Alhaurin de la Torre, situated on the Cartama-Churriana road and with a price of €1.559/l.
In third place is the MLC garage on Avenida Ramon y Cajal in Fuengirola, posting a price of €1.559/l as of March 6.
In fourth is the Agla El Rocio de Nagueles station in Marbella, boasting a diesel price of €1.562/l.

Rounding out the top 5 is the Plenergy garage in Torremolinos, on Calle Canada de los Cardos, with diesel sitting at €1.567 per litre.
