The body of a young man has been discovered in a ravine near the University of Granada.
The grim find was made at around 10.30am on Tuesday close to the Cartuja campus.
Two Policia Nacional officers located the body while looking for a university student who had been reported missing earlier that day.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the identity of the deceased.
Investigators are now trying to determine how the young man died, with police not ruling out the possibility of an accident or other circumstances.
The missing student is believed to be a resident of the nearby town of Peligros.
He was last seen earlier on Tuesday in the cafeteria of the Faculty of Communication and Documentation, located on the Cartuja university campus – close to where the body was eventually discovered.
Police say the investigation is ongoing as officers work to establish what happened.
