A Spanish cardiologist has revealed what he calls the single best nut for heart health – and says eating just a handful a day could slash your risk of a heart attack by 30%.

Contents
  • Lowers the ‘bad’ cholesterol linked to heart attacks
  • Helps regulate heart rhythm and stress
  • Reduces inflammation
  • The winner

Aurelio Rojas, a heart specialist who regularly shares medical advice on TikTok, claims there is one nut that stands ‘scientifically far superior’ to the rest when it comes to protecting your cardiovascular system.

Before revealing the answer, he outlined the benefits.

Lowers the ‘bad’ cholesterol linked to heart attacks

According to Rojas, the nut doesn’t just reduce total cholesterol randomly.

Instead, it specifically lowers oxidised LDL, the type of cholesterol most closely linked to heart attacks and strokes.

Helps regulate heart rhythm and stress

He also says it improves heart rate variability, a key marker of cardiovascular resilience.

#colesterol #alimentacion #nueves #dieta #fruta

By boosting parasympathetic nervous system activity, it helps counteract the damaging effects of stress on the heart.

Reduces inflammation

The third major benefit is lower systemic inflammation.

Rojas explains that studies show it reduces markers such as high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) – a value commonly seen in blood tests and associated with cardiovascular risk.

The winner

The nut in question is walnuts.

According to the cardiologist, people who eat around 30 grams of walnuts per day – roughly a small handful – have a 30% lower risk of suffering a heart attack.

‘Better than many pills, easy, tasty and good for your heart,’ he concludes.
