A British expat has sounded the alarm after being targeted by a mugger while sat in her car in Marbella.
Emma K took to social media following the incident at the Guadalmina commercial centre on Sunday.
Writing in a San Pedro de Alcantara Facebook group for residents, she claimed a man opened her car’s passenger door.
Emma wrote: ‘Just a warning, sitting in my car today in Guadalmina commercial centre when a man opened the passenger door and tried to snatch my bag.
‘Luckily it was closer to me than him so I grabbed it first, he then ran off.
‘Only description I can give is dark tanned skin, large build and wearing blue hoodie and cap.’
The Spanish Eye has contacted Emma and local police for comment.
The Guadalmina centre features a string of upmarket restaurants that are popular with wealthy expats and Spaniards – including the controversial Asador Guadalmina.
It’s not the first time the centre has made headlines, following a shooting in April 2024 that left an Albanian man injured.
The 34-year-old received multiple bullets by the Pan y Chocolate restaurant, located at the site’s entrance.
In October 2023, three hooded men fired several shots in the centre during a dramatic gangland incident, hitting and injuring two people.
They then fled in what was believed to be a settling of scores between rival clans.
