A Turkish fugitive’s time on the run has ended after being accused of running a property scam on the Costa del Sol.
The 28-year-old was arrested in Estepona under a warrant issued by Interpol, which is now seeking her extradition to Turkey.
There, she faces a 13-year prison sentence for her alleged involvement in a murder plot that led to the fatal shooting of a man outside a bar in Bodrum in 2018.
Police located the fugitive after receiving a complaint linked to an alleged property scam on the Costa del Sol.
The exact nature of the alleged scam has not been revealed by the authorities.
Officers from the Estepona police station traced the suspect to a residential development in the town, where she was living under the radar.
Further checks revealed that she was a Turkish national listed as a fugitive by the Turkish justice system.
According to the international warrant, the woman is not believed to have pulled the trigger in the 2018 Bodrum shooting.
However, judicial authorities allege she acted in coordination with others in what is described as a deliberate homicide, allegedly arising from a business dispute.
