Sevilla Airport is launching a new direct route to a stunning European destination in 2026.
The City Council this week confirmed that the from September 30 next year, the Andalucia capital will have a new connection with the Serbian capital of Belgrade.
The announcement was made through Sevilla’s Tourism and Culture department.
The new connection will see Sevilla added to Air Serbia’s international network, strengthening the city’s links with eastern Europe.
Sevilla’s councillor for Tourism and Culture, Angie Moreno, described the route as ‘excellent news for Sevilla’ and said it confirms the city’s growing appeal to major international airlines.
She added that Belgrade joins a list of strategic destinations that help position Sevilla as a year-round urban, cultural and heritage destination.

The council framed the new route as part of a broader strategy to expand and diversify Sevilla’s air connectivity.
In recent years, the city has worked to attract new routes and strengthen existing ones, both in established markets and in emerging destinations.
Moreno stressed that the goal is not just more flights, but better-quality connections and a wider mix of markets, encouraging more sustainable and less seasonal tourism.
The Belgrade announcement follows other recent air connectivity developments.
Sevilla is set to gain a new direct link with the Canary Islands, with five weekly flights operated by Binter to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Tenerife Norte.
The city has also confirmed a new direct service to London Heathrow Airport, operated by Vueling, further strengthening Sevilla’s international link
