A leading hotel boss has died in a horror traffic accident in Sevilla.
Nacho Anso, who was the director of NH Hotels in the Andalucian capital, was riding his motorbike when he collided head-on with a car on Monday morning.
The fatal crash occurred at around 9.05am on the Cristo de la Expiracion bridge, which is one of the main access routes into the city.
Emergency services confirmed the 53-year-old died at the scene due to the severity of his injuries, despite attempts by medical teams from the 061 emergency service to resuscitate him.
The victim, whose full name is Ignacio Anso Armendariz, had spent his entire professional career with the NH hotel group, where he became a well-known figure in the city’s hospitality sector.
He served as director of the NH Plaza de Armas hotel between December 2004 and January 2012, before moving to the NH Collection Sevilla, located on Avenida Diego Martinez Barrio.

He was due to mark 14 years as director of that hotel in February.
His body has been transferred to the Institute of Legal Medicine in Sevilla, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
The Sevilla Local Police have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
The accident marks the second fatal motorcycle crash in Seville in less than 48 hours, following the death of a 47-year-old man in another collision on the San Bernardo bridge on Sunday night.
